The city police on Wednesday recruited two brothers of deceased officials who embraced martyrdom in a suicide blast near Arfa Kareem Tower last year. In a ceremony arranged at the CCPO office here on Wednesday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Admin Rana Ayyaz Saleem gave appointment letters to the brothers of two martyred constable Sajid Ali, Ali Raza Nazir.

On the occasion, SSP Ayyaz paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of martyred cops, saying they are precious asset of the police department. "The police will never leave heirs of martyrs alone and will keep taking all possible steps for their relief," he said, adding the ceremony was arranged on the direction of CCPO Lahore Amin Wains. The SSP also directed the staff of welfare-eye app to keep in contact with the heirs of martyrs of police officers and ensure their proper assistance. He said comprehensive steps are being taken to look after families of brave martyrs with the help of welfare-eye app.
